Valerie Denise Hill McGill, age 61, of Lavonia, passed away Friday, April 23, 2021 at her home.
Born May 16, 1959, in Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Monroe Hill and Nell "Ma" Gray Hill. She previously worked as a cashier at Dad's Restaurant. She was a homemaker and caregiver. Mrs. McGill was a member of Compassion Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister: Rhonda Fortson; and an infant daughter: Jamie.
She is survived by her husband: Bobby McGill; daughters: LaDonna Maxwell, Amy Schipper (Brent), and Ashley Bowen (Damian); grandchildren: Ashton Bowen (Demy), Malerie Maxwell (Cody), Brentleigh Schipper, Kamdyn Bowen, and Abby Schipper; sister: Sheila Finney (Cliff); brother: Rob Hill (Pam); and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 26, 2021 at Compassion Baptist Church with Rev. Rob Hill and Dr. Jameson White officiating. Burial will follow in Franklin Memorial Gardens – North with Rev. Leon Carson officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Dalton Clark, Cliff Finney, Colman Hill, Scott Owens, Colton Spencer, and Wade Spencer.
