Rev. Dennis Batchelor, age 73, of Toccoa, died Friday, August 7, 2015 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Born October 18, 1941, in Walton County, he was the son of the late Arthur Paul Batchelor and Newell Irene (Wilson) Batchelor. He was a licensed minister with the Congregational Holiness Church. He retired from Westinghouse/ABB after 30 years of service as a core repairman. For more than 19 years, Rev. Batchelor held a ministry outreach service at Westinghouse/ABB each day at lunch. He attended Community Church in Toccoa.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years: Brenda (Wright) Batchelor; daughters: Susan Watson (Mike), Cynthia Brooks (Barry), and Patricia Watkins; brothers: Bobby Batchelor (Katherine), Errol Dean Batchelor, and Dennie Batchelor (Brenda); sister: Jeannine Shellnut; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter: Lisa Batchelor.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 15, 2015 at the Community Church in Toccoa with Rev. Joel May and Rev. Almond Yearwood officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association (www.heart.org).
