Obituary
Devere (Tom) McCann, 82 of Athens, GA formally of Ashville, NY passed away on March 19, 2015 in Royston, Georgia. He was born on October 2, 1932, son of the late Thomas and Lena (Lusk) McCann.
Tom graduated from Southwestern Central School in 1951, then attended Jamestown Community College and received a teaching degree from SUNY Fredonia.He taught his entire career of 30 plus years at Southwestern Central School.He was the president of the Southwestern Area Federal Credit Union for many years. He was also very involved with Camp Gross and Camp Merz Boy Scout Camp for many summers.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, skeet shooting, golf and bowling.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years Nancy (Johns) McCann.His children Cindy Guiffreda of Fredonia, NY, Craig McCann of Jamestown, NY, Kirk McCann of Silvercreek, NY and Carrie (Kyle) Larson of Lavonia, GA. Nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren and three nephews,as well as,his sister Bonnie Guenther of Bettendorf, Iowa.
