Oscar Dill Harrison passed away on December 14, 2008 at his home in Atlanta, Georgia.

Dill was born on June 30, 1918 in Lavonia, Georgia to Nell and Benjamin Harrison.He studied business at the University of Georgia before serving in the US Army in Italy and Africa during World War II. In 1946, he married Sarah Brooks Maret and moved to Atlanta. He was employed as an accountant for Ford Motor Company, Hapeville, for 30 years.After retiring in 1980, he worked as a tax accountant for H&R Block's Decatur office until last year. He joined Peachtree Road United Methodist Church in 1949 and remained an active member throughout the years.Dill served as a member of the Administrative Board and was most recently on the church's Finance Committee. He was a frequent usher and was a lifelong member of the Friendship Class, serving as an officer for many years. Brooksie, his wife of 61 years, preceded him in death in 2007.

He is survived by two daughters, Susan Kaufman of San Antonio, Texas and Karen Garrison of Auburn, Alabama; a son-in-law, Roger Garrison;three grandsons, David Brooks Kaufman and Emmet Harrison Kaufman of San Antonio and James Eric Garrison of Auburn. These and extended family members will miss him greatly.

A family graveside service will be held in the Lavonia City Cemetery on Sunday, December 21 at 4:00 p.m. with Reverend Tom McElroy officiating.

A memorial service will be held at Peachtree Road United Methodist Church on Friday, December 26 at 11 a.m. with Reverend Bill Britt officiating.
