Mrs. Dollie Mae (Whitworth) Moseley, age 75, of Martin, passed away Monday, September 2, 2019 at Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center.
Born June 6, 1944, in Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Nancy Beulah (Stovall) Whitworth. Prior to retirement she worked as a seamstress at Stone Manufacturing and as a deli worker at Ingles in Toccoa. Mrs. Moseley was a dedicated member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church, where she served God through the children's ministry, song, and worship.
She is survived by her husband: James Moseley; daughter: Jennifer Moseley Shehan; granddaughters: Kyra Ord and Summer Ord; sisters: Linda Whitworth, Wynell Price & husband Ben, Jeanette Bagwell & husband Clendon, and Pauline Norris & husband Haskell; brother: Carl Whitworth; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 5, 2019 at the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home of Lavonia with Rev. Bruce McGee officiating. A private burial will follow in Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Flowers are optional or memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org).
