Mr. Donald Aaron Dilbeck, age 80, of Martin, died Sunday, October 9, 2011 at his home.
Born July 11, 1931, in Buckhead, he was the son of the late Truman and Anna Jane Stapp Dilbeck. He was a retired over the road truck driver, a veteran of the US Marine Corp having obtained the rank of Master Sergeant and was an honorary member of the Lavonia VFW Post 5897.
He is survived by daughter: Connie Lawrence of Martin; granddaughters: Cindy Smith & husband Thomas and Melissa Lawrence; great grandchildren: Michael and Matthew Smith and Landon Partain; Mr. Dilbeck was preceded in death by his parents and wife Geraldine "Jeri" Bailey Dilbeck.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. Todd West officiating. Burial will be at 2:00 pm at North Atlanta Memorial Gardens in Doraville.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. At other hours the family will be at the home.
