Mr. Donald Jacob Findley, 83, of Royston, passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at St. Mary's Sacred Heart Hospital in Lavonia.

Born on July 21, 1939 in Royston, GA, he was the son of the late Steven Jacob Findley and Vinnie Ruth Abercrombie Findley. Retired supervisor for Royston LLC, and a member of the Vanna United Methodist Church. He was also an avid bowler, as well as a member and former member of the Board of Directors for the Anderson Bowling Association.

He is survived by his wife: Sara L. Painter Findley; two brothers: Bill Findley (Carol) of Monroe, NC, and Charles Findley of Hartwell; and two grandchildren: Stephen Findley (Kiaya McCurley) of Hartwell and Isaac Findley of Royston. Mr. Findley is preceded in death by his parents; son: Donald "Andy" Findley; daughter: Rhonda K. Findley; and two sisters: Ola Pearl Hill and Barbara Ann Findley.

The family will receive friends Saturday, October 1, 2022 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.  Other times the family will be at the home.

A memorial service celebrating Mr. Donald Findley's life will be held Saturday, October 1, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Findley officiating. His ashes will be buried at the Vanna UMC Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
