Donnie Ray Williams, age 68, of Lavonia, died Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at his home.
Born August 30, 1947, in Stephens County, he was the son of the late Winfield and Sarah Lee (Gaines) Williams. He was owner of Williams Brothers Auto Parts, Toccoa Ford, and Motor Vehicle Sales of Georgia.
He is survived by his wife: Valerie (Kesler) Williams; sons: Alik Cawthon and Brant Cawthon; sisters: Agnes Means, and Pat DeFoor; special niece: Sheila Lane; and three other nieces and two nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother: Emmett Williams and sister: Annette Williams.
The funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Thursday, December 17, 2015 at the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. Todd West and Rev. Chris LeCroy officiating. A private burial will follow in Hunter's Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Alan Means, Mark Means, Sandy Keener, Sebastian Ramsey, Roy Ramsey, Vernon Lingerfelt, and Chuck White.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until the service time. At other hours the family will be at the home. Flowers are optional or memorials may be made to the National Stroke Association (www.stroke.org).
