Mrs. Doris Winn Morrison Brown, 91, of Benson Street, Hartwell, died Thursday, September 26, 2013 at her home.

Born on May 19, 1922 in Vanna GA, she was daughter of the Guy Earl Winn and Anabel Harris Winn.Mrs. Brown was a graduate of Bowman High School and trained in Cosmetology.She owned and operated Doris' Beauty Shop for over 25 years.Mrs. Brown married in 1941 to the late Thomas Carter Morrison, who preceded her in death in 1976.They had two sons; Thomas Carter Morrison and Jeffrey Winn Morrison.She was married in 1977 to Hugh D. Brown, who preceded her in death in 1992.She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Hartwell and active in numerous committees of the church.She was a long-standing member of the Ruth Sunday School Class, serving as the Outreach leader for several years.She worked for many years preparing and serving dinner at the Wednesday night fellowship services.

Survivors include her two sons: Tommy Morrison and his wife Dianne of Hartwell and Jeff Morrison and his wife Beverly of Gainesville GA; a step son-in-law: Ed Nichols of Clarkesville GA.Six grandchildren: Hayes Morrison, Ashley Johnson and her husband Darby, Lyndsey Humphries and her husband Adam, Clifton Morrison, Lisa Nicholson and her husband Herman and Christi Thurmond and her husband Alan. She was also blessed with nine great-grandchildren: Abbie Johnson, Carter Johnson, Luke Johnson, Tallis Morrison, Tyler Humphries, Will Humphries, LeAnne Nicholson, Wyatt Nicholson and Mallory Thurmond.Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her sisters: Guynell Winn Hill and Bonnie Winn Esposito; a brother, Weldon Winn and a step-daughter: Ann Brown Nichols.

Funeral services will be Sunday, September 29 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Carter Tucker officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

The body is at Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The family is at the home.
