Mrs. Doris Jean (Crowe) Isbell, age 77, of Lavonia, died Thursday, August 14, 2014 at Hart Care Center.
Born September 14, 1936 in Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late Otto and Melvina (Landreth) Crowe. She was co-owner of Isbell's Restaurant in Lavonia and had worked for Wometco and Carwood. She was a member of Providence Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband: Billy Joe Isbell; son-in-law: Marshall Bryant; half sisters & brothers: Mildred Williams and Helen Whiting, M. C. Cawthon and Fred Cawthon.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law: Aaron & Kathy Isbell of Lavonia; daughter and son-in-law: Jean & Greg Mason of Lavonia; grandchildren: Leigh & Greg Fowler, Courtney & Greg Kellum, Matt & Stacie Isbell; and great-grandchildren: Kaleigh, Abigail, Brody, Kade and Reese; sister: Connie Reed; and half brother: James Cawthon.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 16, 2014, at the Providence Methodist Church with Rev. Doug Brown officiating. The body will be placed in church at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Franklin Memorial Gardens - North. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at other times the family will be at the home of Aaron and Kathy Isbell. Flowers are optional or memorials may be made to Providence Methodist Church Building Fund
