Mrs. Doris Lane Burton McCollum, 71, of Margaret Circle, Canon, formerly of Townville SC, died Friday, November 15, 2013 at her home.

Born on June 26, 1942 in Anderson SC, she was the daughter of the late Edward Emory Burton Sr. and Ellen Lane Garrison Burton.She was formerly employed at Owens Corning Fiberglas and a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church, Anderson SC.

Survivors include two daughters, Yvonne Spearman of Canon & Karen Owens of Townville SC; a son, Frankie Spearman of Seneca SC; two granddaughters raised in the home, Trista Fortson of Royston & Amber Spearman of Canon; a sister, Debbie Cox of Williamston SC; two brothers, Roger Dale Burton of Starr SC & Joey Burton of Townville SC; eleven grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren also survive.Mrs. McCollum was preceded in death by her husband, Theron W. McCollum; four sisters, Joyce Robards, Gail Tabor, Sandra Anderson & Barbara Burton; a brother, Eddie Burton and a great-grandson, Eddie Norton.

Graveside services will Tuesday, November 19 at 2:00 p.m. at the Memorial Garden of Prayer with Rev. Tommy Cleveland officiating.

The body is at Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends Monday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The family is at their respective homes.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to offset funeral & medical expenses.
