Doris Joan (Thomas) Segars, age 83, of Lavonia, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at her home.
Born July 14, 1934, in Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late Claude and Lilly (Payne) Thomas. She retired from Hartwell Garment Company as a utility operator. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her husband: B. D. Segars; son: Edward Segars; daughters: Gwen Ward, Cathy Carter, and Janice Land; sisters: Ozelle Pritchett and Lorene Perkins; seven grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 16, 2018 at the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home of Lavonia. Burial will follow in Franklin memorial gardens – North. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
