Mrs. Doris Lois Brown Speers, 87, of Clyde Circle, Hartwell, passed away Saturday, September 14, 2019 at her home.

Born on July 17, 1932 in Hartwell GA, she was the daughter of the late John Butler Brown and Annie Ruth Cordell Brown.Mrs. Speers was a lunchroom worker at Hartwell Elementary School for 34 years and of the Baptist faith.She loved growing flowers and working in her yard.

Survivors include her son: Grady J. Speers Jr. of Hartwell; her daughter & caregiver: Diane Maxwell of Hartwell; granddaughters & caregivers: Joey Holcomb and Lisa Ricks; nieces & caregivers: Emily Green and Jan Moore; seven grandchildren; twenty seven great-grandchildren and eight great great-grandchildren also survive.Mrs. Speers was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Grady Justice Speers Sr.; a daughter: Elaine Kidd; four brothers and four sisters.

The family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.Other times the family will be at the home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Doris Speers will be held Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Tony Franks officiating.Entombment will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.
