Mrs. Doris Little Wilson, 98, of 504 Walt Wilson Road, Lavonia, GA, died peacefully Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at Rainey Hospice House in Anderson, SC.
Born on April 2, 1914 in Hartwell, GA, she was the daughter of the late William Little and Blanche Walters Little.She was the Owner & Operator of Wilson's Grocery Store for 40 years, a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, and a former Sunday school teacher.Mrs. Wilson helped with the very first Bible School, was a member of WMU, a member of the Forever Young Group and she served on various other committees.
Survivors include one son, Jimmy Wilson and his wife, Johnnie of Lavonia; one daughter, Lynda Robertson and her husband Heyward of Hartwell; one brother, Garland Little of Knoxville, TN; three grandchildren: Lisa Wilson, Ashley Robertson, Kara Tiffany and her husband Matt; and one great-grandchild, Tyson Tiffany also survive. Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walton J. "Walt" Wilson; one son, Bobby Wilson; and three brothers: Harry Little, Ralph Little, and Charles Little.
Funeral services will be Friday, August 17, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Black, Mr. Leslie Boles, and Mrs. Christine Reynolds officiating.Entombment will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday night.The family is at the home of Jimmy and Johnnie Wilson, 5140 Mt. Olivet Road, Lavonia, GA.
