Dorothy Chitwood Caudell, age 98, of Peachtree Corners, GA, formerly of Franklin County, passed away Thursday, May 4, 2023 at Hamilton Mill Personal Care Home in Buford.

Born October 29, 1924 in Stephens County, she was the daughter of the late Fort and Neatie Elizabeth Norton Chitwood. She was a homemaker and was a member of Damascus Baptist Church in Banks County. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband: George Sebren Caudell; grandson: Michael Brooks Peters; sisters: Frances McDonald & Joyce Hill; brothers: Steve Chitwood, Charles Chitwood, Virlyn Chitwood, Kenneth Chitwood & Cliff Chitwood.

She is survived by daughters: Peggy Demoor of Murphy, NC, Brenda Rote of Eustis, FL & Mary (Mell) Paul of Peachtree Corners, GA; brother: James Chitwood of Canon, GA; and grandsons: Mark (Karon) Peters & Patrick (Samantha) Paul.

The funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, May 8, 2023 at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Chris Chitwood officiating. Burial will follow in Franklin Memorial Gardens – North. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday beginning at 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donation may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, (alz.org), P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
