Passed away on September 6th at St. Mary's Hospital, Athens, Georgia surrounded by her family.
Dorothy was born November 28, 1927 in Ottawa, Illinois. She was the daughter of the late Eugene and Katherine Sartini of Ottawa, Illinois.
She was married to Richard Dobbs of Ottawa, Illinois and had two children, Steve and Debbie. Dorothy was the secretary for the Superintendent of Lasalle County Schools until she retired. She and her husband (Richard) moved from Ottawa, Illinois to Lake Hartwell, Georgia in 1983. They enjoyed living together on the lake until Richard passed away March 2, 2002. Dorothy moved from the lake to St. Mary's Highland Hills Village, Athens, Georgia on February 6, 2012 where she enjoyed her many new friends until her death.
A memorial service will be held at Sharon Presbyterian Church, Hartwell, Georgia at 3:00 p.m. Sunday September, 9th.In lieu of flowers, special memorials can be made to the Garden at Sharon Presbyterian Church, Hartwell, GA.
Survivors include her son, Steve Dobbs, daughter Debbie (T.J.) Galvin, grandchildren, Casey and Tag Galvin, Nicole (Matt) Neulander, Brittany Dobbs, great grandchildren, Madison, Jack and J.D. Neulander, sister Mary(Bob) Preston , and a number of nieces and nephews.
