Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" Tallent King, 86, of Hartwell, passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at her home.

Mrs. King was a former battery filler for Springs Industries. She was a nursery worker for more than 30 years at the First Baptist Church of Hartwell, where all the children called her "Ms. Dot".Mrs. King was also a Shrinette for several years, and a member of the Mt. Olivet Church of God.

Survivors include a son: Roger Harris (Andi) of Hartwell; one brother: Bobby Tallent of Charlotte, NC; one sister: Lillie Mae Springs of Winter Haven, FL; two granddaughters that she thought of like the daughters she never had: Angie Scarborough and Traci Moon both of Elberton; twelve grandchildren; nine great grandchildren: and six great-great grandchildren. Mrs. King was preceded in death by her parents; first husband: Jimmy Harris; second husband Clyde "C.L." King; four sons: Billy Harris, Dennis Harris, John Harris, Jerry Harris; and several brothers and sisters.

The family will receive friends Friday afternoon from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Mt. Olivet Church of God.Other times the family will be at their respective homes.

Funeral services for Mrs. Dot King will be held Friday, March 12, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mt. Olivet Church of God with Rev. Wesley Allen and Mr. Fred Greenway officiating.Burial will be in the Mt. Olivet Church of God Cemetery.
