Mrs. Dorothy Jean "Dot" Burdette Temples, 80, of Elrod Ferry Road, Hartwell, passed away Sunday, February 14, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family and friends.
Born on August 6, 1935 in Iva, SC she was the daughter of the late Robert "RW" Burdette and Ida Marie Brown Burdette.Mrs. Temples was a home maker and of the Baptist faith
Survivors include her husband: Curtis O. Temples; one son: Lamar Temples and his wife Julie of Covington; one daughter Tammy Anderson and her husband Wes of Conyers; two brothers Johnny Burdette and Wendell Burdette both of Starr, SC; two sisters: Vivian Gable of Hartwell, and Nadine Pilgrim of Starr, SC; six grandchildren: Chad Temples, Cody Temples, Casey Shaddix, Earl Shaddix, Preston Anderson, and Parker Anderson; three great-grandchildren: Ellison Temples, Ella Shaddix and Emily Shaddix also survive. Mrs. Temples was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: Jimmy Burdette and Dallas Burdette and one sister: Betty Burdette.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, February 17, 2016, 2:00 pm at the Nancy Hart Memorial Park with Rev. Terry Meeks officiating.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening.The family is at the home. Flowers are optional, memorials may be made to the Parkinson's disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY 10018.
