Obituary
Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" Brown Nixon, age 89 of Atlanta, Ga., died September 9, 2009 at Embracing Hospice Care, Snellville, Ga.
Born November 21, 1919 in Tennessee she was the daughter of the late John Brown and Ethel Burge Brown. She retired from Sears in the Retail Credit Department. She was a member of the Oak Grove United Methodist Church in Decatur, Ga.
She is survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Kinman Nixon.
Celebration of Life services will be held Saturday, Sept. 12, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the Strickland Funeral Home – Hartwell Chapel with the Rev. Sam Dulaney officiating. Burial will be in the Reed Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Saturday afternoon from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service. The family will be at their respective homes.
