Mrs. Dot Dyar York, 72, of 408 Flat Shoals Rd. Bowersville, died December 1, 2013 at Brown Memorial Convalescent Center, Royston.

Born on March 4, 1941 in Hartwell GA, she was the daughter of the late Claude Dyar and Reba Skelton Dyar.She was retired from Belk of Hartwell as a sales clerk and was also a homemaker. She was a member of Mt. Hebron Baptist Church.

Survivors include three sons: Alan York and his wife Ann of Lewisville GA, Alvin York and his wife Tina of Hartwell, Grant York and his wife Pam of Bowersville; two daughters: Allison Temple and her husband Ike of Canon and Elizabeth Rice and her husband Jeremy of Royston; thirteen grandchildren: Kayla York, Briana York, Chayse York, Haley Temple, Hilary Temple, Pressley York, Seth York, Claire Rice, Chloe Rice, Delana Rice, Mary Ann McNeeley, Julie Bailey, and Zac Wood; six great-grandchildren: Cam Bailey, Wyatt Bailey, Marti Ann Bailey, Drew McNeeley, Caroline McNeeley, Ava Grace Miller, and Tinlee York.; a brother: Jimmy Dyar of Hartwell and a sister: Emily Carrington of Bowman also survive. Mrs. York was preceded in death by her husband: H. Kenneth York; a brother: Jackie Dyar and a sister: Mary Alice Tumlin.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 4 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Dr. Donald Little and Rev. Benson Bottoms officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park with Rev. Jerry Durham Officiating.

The body is at Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The family is at the home of Grant and Pam York 408 Flat Shoals Rd. Bowersville.
