Mr. Douglas Edward "Doug" Harlin, Sr, 94 of Hoschton, GA, formerly of Hartwell, passed away April 22, 2025 at the Phoenix at Braselton.

Born on April 15, 1931 in Flushing, NY, he was the son of the late Edward L. Harlin and Bessie Morrison Harlin. Mr. Harlin was a retired forecasting analyst for IBM, and a member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served during the Korean War. Doug loved fishing, woodworking, and baseball, especially when cheering on his son, Andy's, team: St. Pius X High School.

Survivors include his four sons: Mike Harlin (Jane) of Mountain Rest, SC, Greg Harlin (Kim) of Annapolis, MD, Doug Harlin Jr. (Allison) of Flowery Branch, GA, and Andy Harlin (Jamie) of Atlanta, GA; one daughter: Kathy Harlin (John) of Flowery Branch, GA; two grandchildren: Eddie (Lilly) & Hannah; and one great-grandchild: Miles. Mr. Harlin is preceded in death by his parents; step-mother: Rose Harlin; wife: Pauline M. Harlin; two brothers: Wilber and Donald Harlin; and his special friend: Jo Ellen Kotal.

The family will receive friends Thursday, May 1, 2025 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Other times the family will be at their respective homes.

A Funeral Mass for Mr. Doug Harlin will be held Friday, May 2, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with Father Tran Pham Nguyen officiating.

Graveside services will be at Friday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the Green Lawn Cemetery in Roswell, GA

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Pius X High School Memorial Scholarship Fund, 2674 Johnson Rd. NE, Atlanta, GA 30345.
