Mr. Hal Douglas Walters, age 60, of Lavonia, died Friday, July 31, 2009 at Cobb Memorial Hospital.
Born May 15, 1949, in Oconee County, SC, he was the son of the late Bill & Ruby (Jordan) Walters. He was a textile worker and of the Methodist faith.
He is survived by his wife: Katherine (Lawrence) Walters; brother: Bobby Walters of Lavonia; sisters: Louise (Walters) Brock of Lavonia and Eleanor Ann (Walters) McCollum of Hartwell. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother: Alton Walters.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 2, 2009 at the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Stowe officiating. Burial will follow in Franklin Memorial gardens – North.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
