Mr. Douglas McArthur White, age 69, of Hartwell, died Saturday, February 26, 2011 at his home.
Born August 19, 1941, in Franklin County, he was the son of the late Edrew C. & Annie Lee Martin White. Mr. White retired from Owens Corning Fiberglass and Motor Vehicles Sale of GA. He served in the National Guard and was a member of Price Chapel Church of God.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ted M. White.
He is survived by his daughters & sons-in-law: Angela White & Lee Johnson & Amy White & Tiger Floyd both of Hartwell; grandchildren: Breanna White, Dillon Segars, Amanda Segars, Andrew Graham, Whitney Smith, Tyler Floyd, & Tanner Floyd; great-grandchild: Koltin Bryant; brothers: Howard White of Martin & Tommy White of Lavonia; and the mother of his children & her husband: Brenda & James Smith.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Stowe and Rev. Fred McCurry officiating. Burial will follow in Lavonia City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. At other hours the family will be at the home.
