Mr. Douglas J. Byrum, 70, of 94 Cade Street, Hartwell, died Tuesday, December 25, 2012 at Hartwell Health Care Center.

Born on March 4, 1942 in Hartwell, he was the son of the late Otis Byrum and Elease Stone Byrum.He was an insurance salesman for the United Insurance Company and was a member of Goldmine Church of God.

Survivors include his wife, Alice Byrum of 183 Clyde Circle, Hartwell; one son, Steven Byrum of Buford; one daughter, Teresa Wilson and her husband Lee of Greenville, SC; and five grandchildren: Dale Craft, Amber Craft, Kasey Wilson, Rosie Wilson, and Michael Wilson. Mr. Byrum was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Debbie Clever.

Funeral services will be Friday, December 28, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Phillip Patterson and Mr. Kevin Ginn officiating.Mr. Byrum's wishes were to be cremated after the service.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday.The family is at the home of Robert and Lisa Banks, 1066 Mt.
