Mr. E. Doyce Nannie, 90, of E. Nannie Road, Hartwell, died Friday, June 15 at VA Medical Center, Augusta GA.

Born on January 24, 1922 in Salisbury NC, he was the son of the late Robert William Nannie and Martha Sue Sanders Nannie.He was retired from Monroe Auto Equipment Company, a member of the Nancy Hart Masonic Lodge # 690 and a Shriner.He was a member of the Mt. Hebron Baptist Church, the VFW and was a WW II US Army veteran, serving in the 1st Calvary Division, Pacific Theater.

Survivors include two daughters, Joan Robertson of Pensacola FL and Gail Jones and her husband Gene of Hartwell; a special friend, Hazel McLane of Hartwell; three brothers, Joe Nannie of China Grove NC, Andrew Nannie of Oak Ridge TN and Charles Nannie of Aberdeen NC; four sisters, Rebecca Sechler of China Grove NC, Nora Kneip, Julia Thompson and Lois Miller all of Salisbury NC; four grandchildren, Kristy Clark, Barry Jones, Darren Robertson and Karen Brunner and twelve great-grandchildren also survive.Mr. Nannie was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dollie O'Barr Nannie; a brother, Gene Nannie and two sisters, Aubrey Nannie and Edna Goodwin.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 19 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Dr. Donald Little and Rev. Steve Jones officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park with military honors.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Monday night.The family is at the home of his daughter, Gail and Gene Jones, 84 Nannie Road, Hartwell.Flowers optional, memorials may be made to the Mt.
