Mr. Joseph Doyle Ethridge, 93, of Hartwell, passed away Sunday, March 5, 2023 at Hart Care Center.

Born on September 16, 1929 in Hartwell, GA, he was the son of the late Joe Harley Ethridge and Belle Hembree Ethridge. Mr. Ethridge was a retired head sewing machine mechanic for Hartwell Garment having worked for 42 plus years. He was a member of the Abundant Life Baptist Church where he was a former deacon.

Survivors include one son: Freddie Ethridge (Lisa) of Alpharetta; one daughter: Paula Ethridge of Hartwell; one brother: Lloyd Ethridge (Irene) of Hartwell; two sisters: Ruth Martin, Joyce Wright (Mike) all of Hartwell; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Mr. Ethridge was preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Annie Lois Brown Ethridge; one grandson: Ron Ethridge; two brothers: Billy Ethridge, Jimmy Ethridge and one sister: Lila Thomas.

The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.  Other times the family will be at their respective homes.

Funeral services for Mr. Doyle Ethridge will be held Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Brewer and Rev. Dan Bailey officiating.  Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

Family wants to thank the staff and residents of Hart Care Center for their thoughts and prayers over the last few months, especially Cindy Bryson for her care during his last hours.
