Dustin Blake "Dusty" Rector, age 37, of Bowman, passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2021 at St. Mary's Sacred Heart Hospital.

Born April 5, 1984, in Jonesboro, GA, he was the son of Tammy (Brooks) McKern and the late Tony Rector. Dusty worked as a poultry farmer at the Flying Egg and attended Rice Creek Baptist Church in Canon.

In addition to his mother, survivors include his sons: Logan Rector and Austin Rector; brothers: Tony Rector (Jamie), Shane Rector, Joshua Friel (Amanda), and Anthony Rector; sisters: Chasmine Rector and Sierra Rector; and maternal grandparents: Henry and Linda Brooks. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Junior and Polly Rector; and companion: Crystal Dawn Saxon.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 14, 2021 at the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home of Lavonia with Rev. Jason Dove and Rev. Gary Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in Rice Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the service.
