Mr. Donald "Dwight" McClain, 77, of Liberty Hill Church Rd, Hartwell, passed away Saturday, August 26, 2023 at his home.

Born on December 9, 1945 in Clovis, NM, he was the son of the late Don McClain and Judy Frye McClain.  Mr. McClain was a retired foreman for LHP Corp, and was a member of the Sardis Baptist Church where he was a deacon and served on the Disaster Relief Team. Dwight was a member of the Nancy Hart Masonic Lodge #690, and an avid fisherman and hunter.

Survivors include his wife: June Floyd McClain of Hartwell; son: Elijah McClain of Hartwell; and two granddaughters: Katelyn and Savannah McClain. Mr. McClain is preceded in death by his parents and sister: Pat Lovell.

The family will receive friends Monday, August 28, 2023 from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Other times the family will be at the home.

Funeral services for Mr. Dwight McClain will be Monday, August 28, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. John Silver and Mr. Joe Martin Brown officiating.  Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park with Masonic Rites.

Flowers are optional, and memorials may be made to the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
