Mr. Earl Stevenson Sisson, 86 of 220 Pine Tree Trace, Lavonia, died Monday, August 16 at his home.

Born on December 17, 1923 in Washington DC, he was the son of the late Herbert L. Sisson and Susan Woodville Sisson.He was retired from IBM Corporation, where he was the facilities manager of the Washington, DC Plant and was a member of the Columbia Masonic Lodge, Washington DC.He was a member of the Hartwell First United Methodist Church, the Sojourners and served on various church committees.Mr. Sisson was a WW II U.S. Marine Corp veteran, serving in the Pacific Theater.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Fowkes Sisson of the home; two sons, Robert "Rob" Sisson of Virginia Beach VA and Glen Sisson of Lavonia; a daughter, Holly Lynn Sisson of Lake Wales FL; a sister, Lorraine Smith and three grandchildren, Glen Earl Sisson II, Gabriel Elias Sisson and Caitlin Marie Whittington also survive.He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Marion Sisson, Alden Sisson, Randolph Sisson and George Sisson and a sister, Leila Long.

Funeral services will be Thursday, August 19 at 2:00 p.m. at the Hartwell First United Methodist Church with Dr. Allen Stewart and Rev. Troy Ayers officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 1:00 p.m.The family will receive friends after the funeral service in the Church Family Life Center.The body will be cremated after the service.
