Mr. Edwin Stephen "Ed" Hasel, 83, of Hidden Point Road, Hartwell, passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at his home.
Born on June 8, 1934 in Jamaica, NY, he was the son of the late Charles Hasel and Myrtle Whaley Hasel. Mr. Hasel was a State University of New York graduate with a degree from Ag Engineering. He was retired from Ford Motor Company Tractor Division with 35 years of service as the Director of North American Sales.He was also a member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus where he served on various committees.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years: Virginia King Hasel; one daughter: Debbie Breeden of Hartwell; two sons: Don Hasel of Athens and Richard Hasel of Winston Salem, NC; one brother: Norman Hasel (Dorothy) of East NorthPort, NY; six grandchildren: Kelli Hart (Jason), Lisa Hall (Bryan), Reese Hasel, Ryan Hasel, Gabrielle Dobson (Bob), Christin Stewart and several great-grandchildren also survive. Mr. Hasel was preceded in death by one brother: Robert Hasel.
A memorial mass service celebrating Ed's life will be held on Monday, April 30, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with a reception to follow the service.
The family is at the home. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in his honor to the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church Building Fund, 1009 Benson Street, Hartwell, GA 30643.
