Edna Crittenden Broadwell, age 92, of 1930 Bio Church Rd., Hartwell, Ga. died Saturday, January 6, 2007 at NHC Health Care of Anderson.

Born on July 12, 1914 in Elbert County, she was the daughter of the late R.P. Crittenden and Martha Ann Edwards Crittenden. She was a homemaker and a member of the Bethesda United Methodist Church.

Survivors include four sons: James Broadwell of Honea Path, S.C., Charlie Broadwell of Anderson, S.C., Gene Broadwell of Elberton, Ga., and John Broadwell of Anderson, S.C., two daughters: Shirley Taylor of Gulf Breeze FL and Brenda Westbrook of Hartwell Ga., brothers, Ben Crittenden of Hartwell, Ga., and Horace Crittenden of Marietta, Ga., sister, Iris Dlugos of Hickory, N.C. Twelve grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and seven step-great grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Walter J. Broadwell, brothers, Thomas, Malcolm and Fred Crittenden, and sisters Rosa Mae Vaughn and Cora Crittenden.

Funeral services will be Monday, January 8, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. from the Bethesda United Methodist Church. Rev. Doug Brown and Mrs. Deborah Broadwell officiating.Burial will be in the Bethesda United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home – Hartwell Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday evening. The family will be at their respective homes.
