Mrs. Edna Bratcher Davis, 78, of 386 Bartson St., Lavonia, died Saturday, January 7, 2007 at Brown Memorial Convalescent Center, Royston.
Born on December 23, 1928 in Hart Co. GA, she was the daughter of the late Tom Bratcher and Mae Sullivan Bratcher.She was former seamstress and a homemaker.She was a member of the Cross Roads Baptist Church, Anita Roper Circle of the WMU and the Encouragers SS Class.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Charles E. Davis of the home; a son: Jeff Davis and his Wanda of Carnesville; two daughters: Janice Wooten and her husband Forrest "Tot" of Lavonia and Judy Dove and her husband Andy of Bowersville; two sisters: Margie Holland and Sara Andrews both of Lavonia; four granddaughters: Tosha Wooten, MeriBeth Davis, JoAnna Davis and Harleigh Dove also survive.She was preceded in death by two sisters: Louise Hicks and Betty Allen and three brothers: Charles Bratcher, Tom "Junior" Bratcher and Bobby Bratcher.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 9 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cross Roads Baptist Church with Rev. Ben Coleman and Rev. David Wilson officiating.Burial will be in the Cross Roads Baptist Church cemetery with Rev. Richard Bielski and Rev. Connie Mack Bowers officiating.The body will be placed in the church at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday morning.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home – Lavonia Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Monday night.The family will be at the home of Judy and Andy Dove, 8019 Scheafer St., Bowersville GA.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cross Roads Baptist Church Building Fund, 3636 Lavonia Hwy, Hartwell, GA30643.
