Mrs. Nora Edna (Gibson) Evans Fairbrother, 95, of Dallas, formerly of Franklin County, passed away Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Tranquility at Cobb in Austell.
Born June 26, 1922, in Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Kizzie (Farmer) Gibson. She was owner & operator of Marietta Upholstery and was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her son: Phillip D. Evans of Tallapoosa; brothers: Ernest Gibson, Jr. and Roger Gibson both of Lavonia; sisters: Shelby Jean Harris of Anderson, SC and Martha Goff of Lavonia; several grandchildren and nieces & nephews also survive. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband: George H. Evans; sons: Douglas A. Evans and Tony B. Evans; brothers: Ralph Gibson and Horace Gibson; and sisters: Margarete Bray, Corine Campbell and Mary Jordan.
The funeral service will be held 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home burial will follow in Martin Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
