Mrs. Edna Brown Walters, age 72, of Lavonia, died Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Born February 10, 1941, in Elbert County, she was the daughter of the late L. B. and Sara Lee Brown. She and her husband Bobby were co-owners of Peachtree Specialty where she worked as bookkeeper. Mrs. Walters was very loving and devoted to her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Chandler Brown.
Survivors include her husband: Bobby Walters of the home; son and daughter-in-law: Tony and Lynn Walters; daughter and son-in-law: Annette Y. and Johnny Cheek; grandchildren: Josh Walters, Matthew Mealor, Ashley Mealor, & Courtney Mealor; brothers and sisters-in-law: Buster and Mae Brown and Pete and Faye Brown; sister: Nell Shephard; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Bielski officiating.Burial will follow in Franklin Memorial Gardens – North. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. At other times the family will be at the home.
