Obituary
Mrs. Edna Elizabeth Shiflet Welborn, age 79 of 33 Little Milltown Rd., Hartwell, Ga., widow of PatBunk Welborn, died Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at her residence.
Born August 6, 1928 in Hart County, GA, she was the daughter of the late L.G. "Bud" Shiflet, Sr. and Lizzie Jane Cordell Shiflet.She was retired from Bellcraft where she was employed as a seamstress and was a member of the Reed Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son: Donnie Welborn of Hartwell; daughters: Barbara Chitwood, Patsy Alewine, and Angela Purcell all of Hartwell; Brother: J.C. "Jake" Shiflet of Hartwell; 14 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.She is preceded in death by brothers: L.G. Shiflet, Frank Shiflet, and George Shiflet; sisters: Mary Shiflet, Myrtle Motes, Eunice Atkins and Nettie Ruth Hill; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 28 at 11:00 a.m. from the Hartwell Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home with the Rev. Johnny Stowe officiating.Burial will follow at Nancy Hart Memorial Park.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral home of Hartwell where the family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7 to 9:00 p.m. The family is at the home.
