Mr. James Edward "Beaver" Cleveland, 64, of Sunset Road, Canon, died Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Athens Regional Medical Center.

Born on October 3, 1949 in Royston GA, he was the son of the late Arthur Cleveland and Ethel Isom Cleveland.He was a self-employed carpenter, member of the Nancy Hart Masonic Lodge # 690 and of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Lisa Carter Cleveland; three sons, Jamie Cleveland & his wife Karol and Jeremy Cleveland all of Lavonia and Kevin McLane of Hartwell; two daughters, Jennifer McLane and Julie McLane both of Hartwell; two brothers, Wayne Cleveland of Hartwell and David Cleveland of Royston; a sister, Wilma C. Temple of Hartwell; eight grandchildren, Claire Cleveland, Emma Grace Cleveland, Brady Cleveland, Anzleigh Cleveland, Brayden Jones, Bryson Jones, Jackson Herring and Bella Herring also survive.Mr. Cleveland was preceded in death by his parents; a grandchild, Zachary Pilgrim; two brothers, Ray Cleveland & Ronnie Cleveland and a sister, Ruth Rice.

Memorial services will be Tuesday, February 4 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Joe Black officiating.
