Eileen McCarthy Jones-Looney, age 85, of Lavonia, passed away Thursday, August 11, 2022 at her home.

Born November 9, 1936, in Dayton, OH, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Carmen Marie Bridenball McCarthy. After high school she continued her education and became a nurse, where she worked until her retirement. She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Hartwell.

She is survived by her children: Darlene Baggert, Harold Seeley, Linda Myers, and Kathy Baldasaire; grandchildren: Michael Chaney, George Colwell III, Sylvia Seeley, Carmen Seeley, Robert Smith, Jeremy Massengale, Cory Baldasaire, Marie Baldasaire, and Shawn Baldasaire; and great-grandchildren: Ethan Chaney, Sapphire Chaney, Destany Colwell, Hailey Colwell, and Cassandra Colwell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Robert Looney; and brother: Tom McCarthy.

The funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 15, 2022 at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Hartwell. Burial will follow in the Lavonia City – Burgess Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
