Elly continued to be active in the Church in both Long Beach and Hartwell, where she volunteered to help at every opportunity. She also loved singing in the choir.
She retired to Hartwell in 1997 after 44 years of service to the Long Island Lighting Company to be near her brother Pete and his wonderful wife of 64 years, also named Eleanor.
