Mrs.Mary Elizabeth Cantrell Reid, 87, of Homestead Road, Hartwell died, September 16, 2014 at Rainey Hospice House in Anderson, SC.

Born on November 13, 1926 in Anderson, SC she was the daughter of the late Jess Cantrell and Lena Jordan Cantrell. She was a homemaker and a member of the Flat Shoals Baptist Church.

Survivors include her two sons: Rev. Keith Reid of Adairsville, GA and Terry Reid of Hartwell; a daughter: Eleanor R. Wilson of Hartwell; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and one brother: Billy Ray Cantrell of Blairsville, GA. also survives. She was preceded in death by her husband Bennie Reid; one son: Donnie Reid, one grandson: Brandon Reid and one brother: James Verner Cantrell.

Funeral services will be Saturday, September 20, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Fugate, Mr. Fred Greenway, and Rev. Keith Reid officiating. Entombment will be in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Anderson, SC.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening.The family is at the home of Eleanor and Ray Wilson, 718 Laurel Dr., Hartwell, GA.
