Obituary
Mrs. Elizabeth J. Stowe, 88, of 2020 Kesler Road, Canon, died Monday, January 17, 2011 at Hartwell Health Care Center.
Born on December 13, 1922 in Hart County, GA, she was the daughter of the late Joe H. Johnson and Liza Lou Harris Johnson. She retired from the Monroe Company where she worked in packing and was a devoted member of Bethany Baptist Church.
She is survived by a son: William Howard Stowe and his wife, Nina of Canon; one daughter: Joyce Yeargin and her husband, Mike of Hartwell; two brothers: Thomas Johnson and his wife, Reba, and Paul Johnson and his wife, Charlotte of Hartwell; one sister: Jo Ellen Kotal of Hartwell; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Stowe was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, William C. Stowe.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Bethany Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Durham and Rev. Luther Thomason officiating. Burial will be in the Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday night.The family is at the home.Memorials may be made out to Bethany Baptist Church, 2085 Bethany-Bowersville Road, Canon, GA 30520.
