Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth (Rudeseal) Young, age 72, of Carnesville, passed away Monday, January 28, 2019 at Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center.
Born February 12, 1946, in Oconee County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Robert and Julie (Holbrooks) Rudeseal. She was a homemaker and a member of New Bethel Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Albert Young and brother, Ted Rudeseal.
She is survived by her son & daughter-in-law: Danny & Kimberly Young; daughters & sons-in-law: Karen & Odell Voyles and Angie & Hank Nash; siblings: R. E. Rudeseal, William Rudeseal, Bonnie Hudson, and Tony Rudeseal; grandchildren: Daniel Young, Brandon & Courtney Young, Jonathan Young, Bradley & Chasity Voyles, Candice & Cody Swafford, Timothy & Hannah Rogers, and Adam & Alex Rogers; and several great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 31, 2019 at Hunters Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Joey Stewart, Rev. Robert Rudeseal, Rev. Ben Huff and Rev. Fred Young officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Adam Rogers, Timothy Rogers, Bradley Voyles, Brandon Young, Daniel Young, and Jonathan Young. The pallbearers' wives and children will serve as honorary escort.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. At other hours the family will be at their respective homes. Flowers are optional or donations may be made to defray funeral expenses.
