Ellen Resnik Sadler, 63, passed away at her home on April 1, 2014 after a courageous 5½ months battle with cancer.At the end, she was surrounded by family and friends along with her specially-loved dogs – Ben and Callie.

Ellen was born in Cleveland, Ohio on February 1, 1951 to Frank and Lillian Resnik.She and her husband – Randy - came to Hartwell in 2001 from Atlanta.Ellen was active locally in both Hart County as well as Anderson, South Carolina.In Hartwell, she was a faithful member of First Baptist Church where she belonged to the Bond of Love Sunday School class, taught other classes and sang in the Sanctuary Choir.She was also a member of the Hartwell Rotary Club serving as a board member, Secretary and – most recently – as their President for the 2013 year.In Anderson, Ellen was a great supporter of Hospice of the Upstate, serving two terms on that organization's board.

Ellen was predeceased by her husband, Randall E. Sadler and her parents.She is survived by a large extended family and close friends.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, April 6, at First Baptist Church with the Reverends Carter Tucker, Hugh Kirby and Steve Albanese officiating.The family will receive visitors at 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the church.
