Mrs. Eloise Holmes Jones, 86, of 45 Walnut Street, Hartwell, died Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at Lake Pointe Assisted Living.
Born on December 21, 1921 in Carroll Co. GA, she was the daughter of the late Herman S. Holmes and Jewel Garrett Holmes.She was retired from Belk after 15 years as a sales clerk, member of the Hartwell First Baptist Church, and a member of the Ruth Sunday School Class and FCS. She is also a former member of the Jones Memorial First Methodist Church in Forest Park and the Forest Park Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include her daughters: Resa Farmer and her husband Tommy of Alpharetta, Lynda Norris and her husband Paul of Lawrenceville, Pam Gordon and her husband Walter of Hartwell and Pat Rutherford and her husband Mike of Hartwell; and seven grandchildren: Mark and Matthew Farmer, Daniel and Jay Gordon, Bo Rutherford and Laurie Norris, and Erin and Jason Backus also survive.Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her parents and Husband: Pierce R. "Bo" Jones; daughter: Nancy Diane Jones and sister: Virginia Bornstein.
Funeral services will be Friday, September 12 at 2 p.m. at the Hartwell First Baptist Church with Dr. Steve Williams, Rev. Carter Tucker and Rev. Jim Winn officiating.The body will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. Graveside services Saturday, September 13 at 1:00 p.m. at the Jones Memorial First United Methodist Church Cemetery on Phillips Drive in Forest Park with Dr. Sam Jones officiating.
