Obituary
Mrs. Emma Margaret Shirley Burdette, age 75 of 547 College Avenue, Bowersville, Ga., widow of Walter B. Burdette, died Saturday, August 11, 2007 at Hartwell Healthcare Center.
Born November 28, 1931 in Hart County, she was the daughter of the late Boyd C. Shirley and Annie Julia Cheek Shirley. She was retired from Monroe Auto Equipment Company and a member of the Holly Springs Baptist Church.
She is survived by: sons, Larry Burdette and his wife Judy of Bowersville, Ga., and Billy Burdette and his wife Janice of Canon, Ga., brothers, Roger Shirley of Lavonia, Ga., and Steve Shirley of Bowersville, Ga., sister, Elaine Donald of Greenville, S.C. Five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 14, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. in the Hartwell Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home. Rev. Connie Ivester and Rev. Johnny Stowe will officiate. Burial will be in the Franklin Memorial Gardens-North.
The body is at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday evening. The family will be at their respective homes.
