Ernest Aron Rudeseal, age 75 of Hartwell, GA, died August 5, 2009, at Athens Regional Hospital following a short illness.
Born December 9, 1933 in Toccoa, GA, he was the son of the late Willard Newton Rudeseal and Ella Holbrook Rudeseal. He retired from the CDC in Atlanta and was a member of Sharon Presbyterian Church, Golden K and was a Master Gardener. He was a U.S. Marine Veteran and served aboard the U.S.S. Bennington during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Rudeseal lived in Gwinnett County before moving to Hartwell in 1996.
He is survived by: his wife of 51 years, Mary Swindell Rudeseal; son, Randy and Vicki Rudeseal of Winston, GA; daughter, Lisa Rudeseal, of Zebulon, GA; brother, Eugene and Odelia Rudeseal of Alapaha, GA; sisters, Jackie and Mansel Robinson of Ray City, GA, and Edna and Willie Register of White Springs, FL; brother-in-law, Alfred Jackson of Stockbridge, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Linton and Mary Swindell of Hoschton, GA; grandchildren, Ashlyn and Emily Rudeseal of Winston, GA, as well as many surviving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Agatha Jackson.
Mr. Rudeseal's wishes were that his body be donated to the Medical College of Georgia for research.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. at Sharon Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends following the service. In leiu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sharon Presbyterian Church, Golden K Ramp Project or Hart Botanical Gardens.
