Mrs. Esther N. (Hoover) Massey, age 76 of 284 Jim Gulley Road, Hartwell, Ga., died July 4, 2009 at her residence.
Born April 30, 1933 in Endocot County, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Liman George Hoover and Florence Alberta Hoover. She was a retired waitress and a member of the Pentecostal Church of God.
Survivors include: husband, Herbert Massey of the home, sons, Marvin Dewayne Junk of Hartwell, Ga., and Henry Dean Junk of Texas, step-son, Nathaniel Massey of Hartwell, Ga., daughters, Bonnie Jo McClure of California, Darlene Adams of California and Marlene Adams of New York, step-daughter, Joyce Green ofHartwell, Ga., brothers, Joseph Limon Hoover of Arkansas and James Ervay Hoover of Arizona. Twenty two grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Eva Elizabeth Rochelle, and brothers, John and Jimmy Hoover.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday July 7, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Strickland Funeral Home-Hartwell Chapel. Rev. David Toulson will officiate. Burial will be at Nancy Hart Memorial Park. The body is at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday evening. The family will be at the home of Joyce Green, 223 Glendale Drive, Hartwell, Ga.
