Mr. Eugene Fields, age 69, of 1008 Fairview Farm Circle, Lavonia, died Sunday, September 10, 2006 at Cobb Memorial Hospital in Royston following an extended illness.
Born September 23, 1936 in Perry County, Kentucky, he was a son of the late Harve and Ethel Hurd Fields. He served as a paratrooper in the U.S. Army during the Korean and Vietnam Wars.
Survivors include his sons, Larry Dean Fields of Martin, Johnny Fields of Lavonia, Marty Fields of Cleveland Ohio, and Paul Fields of Columbus Ohio; a stepson, Boyd Eugene Scott of Royston; a stepdaughter, Kathy Isom of Lavonia; sisters, Ruth Breeding of Blackie, KY, Wilma Brock of Gary, IND, Sue London of Connersville, IN, Lynn Amburgy of London, KY, and Carol Pittman of Cleveland. Mr. Fields is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Janileen Fields; a son, Michael Fields; a daughter, Karen Fields; and a brother, Bobby Fields.
Mr. Fields' wishes were to be cremated and a memorial service to be held at a later date.
The families are at their respective homes.
