Mrs. Eugenia Dickerson "Genie" Heaton, 86, of Hillcrest Circle, Hartwell, died Sunday, August 25, 2013 at Ty Cobb Regional Medical Center.

Born on May 25, 1927 in Hartwell, GA, she was the daughter of the late Walford Dickerson and Myrtice Vickery Dickerson.Mrs. Heaton was a retired battery filler for Springs Industries and a retired Walmart greeter.

Survivors include a son, Calvin Heaton and his wife Malinda of Hartwell; and one grandchild, Kim Heaton Pierce and her husband Charlie of Hartwell.Mrs. Heaton was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Denver Craten "Bud" Heaton; two brothers: Marvin Dickerson, and Don Dickerson; five sisters: Nellie Bannister, Lorene Cleveland, Lottie Crook, Willie Mae Stewart, and Frances Reed.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Ray Black and Rev. Jerry Mize officiating.Burial will be in the Mt. Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery.

The body is at Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell where the family will receive friends on Monday night from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.The family is at the home of Calvin and Malinda Heaton, 236 Hillcrest Circle, Hartwell, GA.
