Obituary

Mrs. Eulaine Adams Thomas, 98, of Thomson, GA passed on May 14, 2022 at the home of her granddaughter, Mallory Jo Goolsby.

Lane Thomas was born in Hart County on August 25, 1923. She always loved Hartwell. She is the daughter of the late Mallory Wingo and Patty Bray Adams, her Mama and Poppa. She was the widow of Joseph Norman Thomas. Joe and Lane together owned and operated Thomson Molding and Millwork until their retirement in their eighties. They did everything else together, too.

She will be missed by her daughter, Patty Lane Thomas Bradshaw and her son-in-law, Delmar Brinkley Bradshaw of Thomson.

Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren dearly loved her. Delmar Brinkley Bradshaw, Jr and his wife Whitney, and their two children Camryn Eulaine and Delmar Brinkley III live in Thomson. Laine Percell Bradshaw lives in St. Simons, GA. Mallory Jo Bradshaw Goolsby and her husband Burt and their children Addison Burt III, Maylor Patton, and Annie Delle live in Thomson. They will miss their Granny Lane.

Lane Thomas cared for and loved people. She liked those best who would laugh with her. She played Rook and Rummy like a pro, enjoyed watching golf, and loved working in her yard on Pine Lane Drive while she lived there. She could and did sew intricately, and when celebrating Christmas, made much appreciated divinity candy, butterfingers, and a War Cake with caramel icing that her sisters loved. She gathered family for meals in her home and on her porch. Her hands worked steadily as an expression of her love.

She loved her siblings. Both of her brothers and her seven sisters preceded her in death. Orin Adams and Don Adams are her brothers. Her sisters are Dallas Cordell, Troyce Clark Jones, Sara Bannister, Sue Vickery, Alice Ruth (Coopie) Shiflet, Jeanette (Jabo) McCormack, and Geneva (Gebe) Cordell. She thought she had wonderful brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Each of her nieces and nephews were dear to her. She called them as often as she could, and she prayed for their safety and happiness every day.

She lived a happy, challenging life. She lived through wars and a depression, through times without electricity in her home to using a cell phone, from times when neighbors visited to the time when COVID shut down daily life. She credited the joy in her life to God Almighty. She relished each caring and giving role she played in life. She tried to be the best daughter she could be. She loved being a sister. She was a supportive, loving wife. Any time she could take care of a baby or a child, she relished the play and the responsibility. She was a sweet neighborhood mom, a giving mama, and an adored Granny Lane. She was strong, determined, and amazing.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning, May 17th at 11:00. Visitation will begin at 10:00.The service will consist of music by her talented nieces and remarks by family and friends.

Come with a story to tell. We will begin with one here. Joe Thomas asked her every week for a while to marry him. His line was, "Lane, let's get married next Tuesday." It was his day off. She finally agreed. As they were filling out the required paperwork, she realized he had not been exactly truthful. He was four years younger than she was, six years younger than she thought he was. She married him anyway that Tuesday morning and loved him every day of his life.
