Obituary
Mrs. Evelyn Jordan Allen, 89, of 252 Webb St, Hartwell, died Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at her home.
Born on September 16, 1921 in Hart Co. GA, she was the daughter of the late Vandiver Jordan and Janie Alewine Jordan.She was a homemaker and a member of the Flat Shoals Baptist Church.
Survivors include her sons, Troy Allen of Hartwell, Farris Allen of Bowersville and George Allen of Belton SC; two grandchildren, Cindy and Kenneth; several great-grandchildren and her caregivers, Debbie and Jeff Bond also survive.Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James R. Allen; a son, Clifton Allen; several brothers and sisters.Mrs. Allen was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Graveside services will be Friday, October 29 at 2:00 p.m. at the Nancy Hart Memorial Park with Rev. Johnny Stowe and Rev. Sam Duncan officiating.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday night.The family is at their respective homes.
